Where’s your hometown? Who are you outside of CrossFit COMO?
When did you first start training at CrossFit COMO?
I think I started August 2013, the twins first day of school I dropped them off and drove straight to CrossFit COMO.
What is your sports & fitness background?
What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since starting CrossFit COMO?
I’ve seen muscles I didn’t know I had. I have always been a competitive athlete but unfortunately none of the programs I played for had serious weightlifting so before crossfit I had never thought of myself as strong. I fell in love with the Olympic lifts because of the challenge and commitment it takes to learn the technique and make progress. Mentally it teaches me so much about overcoming obstacles and my own fear. I have become stronger woman inside and out because of the time I put into CrossFit and Olympic lifting.

What’s your favorite CrossFit COMO memory?
There are too many memories to pick a favorite. Having a regular, familiar group of people that I can joke around with, support, and lift with keeps me coming back. Lifting is an individual sport but I come from a team Background and that’s what I enjoy most at COMO.
What goal are you currently working towards?
My long term goal is to compete in a weightlifting competition. Last year I was signed up but got the flu and couldn’t go and I have been trying to come back from a shoulder injury ever since. My daily goals are to get myself to the gym, and once inside do the work. It’s a struggle sometimes.
Any advice for people just getting started or new to CrossFit?
My advice is go to Oly class!! Learn good form and technique before heavy weights and high reps. Jordan is a hidden asset, the things he teaches are so important and will make you a better athlete. Plus it’s really fun, we laugh a lot and do really great, and by great I mean awful, mobility work. So I will see you all there, Sundays, 2pm, It’s free.
