What brought you to CrossFit?

The lure of a tough workout and my friend Sherry Corwin. Ultimately, I knew I needed to lift weights to get stronger in order to stay healthy for running and biking. I tore my hamstring over two years ago and I had developed alot of issues as a result of favoring it.  Muscle balance would be the key to my recovery. I hate lifting weights and so I thought I would give crossfit a try. I bought a 10 punch class card to see if it would be challenging enough for me. After completing 3 Ironman triathlons I thought it might no be hard enough. Well…

What was your first impression?

It was hard!! But not in a way that I couldn’t do the work out. It always amazes me at how you think you can’t do it, but you do. Everyone is so supportive as well.


What’s been your biggest accomplishment?

Learning how to get up at 4 am and be at CrossFit COMO at 5 am. The other thing is my hamstring is as strong as ever and I really feel healthy.

What are you working on now?

Just overall mobility and strength. I continue to get strong and one day I hope to do a real pull up.


What’s your favorite CrossFit COMO memory?

Oh definitely the first day do squats with Mike in the foundations class and that  PVC bar. I thought this is silly. But I realized later that is so important to ensure we have good form and not get injured. I still couldn’t walk the next day. 🙂
