I have been doing CrossFit for more than 6 years now, and several times during those 6 years I have stuck with a diet for an extended period of time.  When I first started CrossFit, I followed the paleo diet pretty religiously, for a few months at a time.  Then I discovered the Zone Diet and tested it on myself for an entire month – weighing and measuring all of my food with close to no cheat meals at all.  But in the last 5 months, I´d say that I´ve “let myself go” in terms of eating.

Having something taken away from us is tough, but taking it away ourselves is way tougher.  It requires discipline.  There is nobody out there telling me that I can´t eat Chipotle or ice cream or a donut, but I want to test my discipline, as discipline is the key to every endeavor in life.

I´m not that concerned about the physical  benefits that I know I will get from this challenge, I want to make sure that my mind is still capable of pushing through a challenge.
